PUDDIN' & POOL

When I found out that the event I'd be shooting for the Thornes was taking place at their home on Lake Oologah, I knew I was in for a treat.

And I was right.

The lake was a short walk from the home of Robin and Patrick - whose retirement party was the excuse for the family get-together that weekend - along a well-worn path in the woods, dotted with the first flowers of spring.

The beach itself was made up of thousands of stones, big and small, which we all tried to skip across the lake.

Some were more successful than others.

As much as I loved the lake I was even more excited to discover that the eldest daughter, Ryleigh, had the most amazing, bright red hair I've ever seen{that I totally wanted to steal and make my own} and that the youngest, Sheridan, had perfect little angel kiss freckles covering her cheeks and nose.

These children were born to be photographed.

Although a lot of time was spent back at the house laughing...

playing pool...

{well, trying anyway}...

wrestling...

catching up with loved ones...

and, most importantly, eating the best banana pudding ever created...

...there was just something magical about that lake that kept us going back again and again.
